DOCTOR JOBS IN BRITISH COLUMBIA

Doctors Positions in BC Available Today

Are you a doctor living in BC or planning to relocate to this province? This might be just the best decision you have made in your life!

British Columbia is the western coastline province of Canada, and BC residents usually say that this place is the closest thing to Heaven you can find on Earth. Mild climate, beautiful nature, clean ecology, and amazing people—these are only the main benefits of living in BC. And then comes the ocean, the best cuisine in Canada, close proximity to the USA (most of the big cities are located within a short drive of the US border), and many more perks. British Columbia also has the second-largest British expats population after Ontario, and appears to be the favorite place for immigrants from the UK.

And what is it for health professionals? The number of hospitals in BC is relatively small; however, the population of this province is rapidly growing, and there is a great demand for physicians and medical experts, especially in Vancouver, Abbotsford, Victoria, and other major cities. In 2022 BC government came up with a few initiatives, and the quotes for doctor positions are growing all the time.

British Columbia's mountains, splendid lakes, islands, rainforests, beautiful stretches of coastline, picturesque cities, attractive towns, and world-class skiing, including famous Whistler Mountain make it one of the most popular destinations in Canada.

The hot summers of the Interior and Okanagan Valley attract Canadian and international vacationers alike to the area to enjoy warm lakes, boating, and a lush wine region. BC has the mildest climate of all Canadian provinces, and it’s no wonder Canadians from all provinces come to spend their vacations!

BC Forest

Around 57% of the province is covered in forest with the lowest rates of deforestation in the world.

Rainforest covers most of the BC Pacific coast and forms part of the largest temperate rainforest in the world, covering 64,000km square (24,7109miles), this is similar to the size of Siri Lanka. It is one of world’s most wild and pristine natural areas.

Blueberry Region

The province is one of the largest regions in the world for growing highbush blueberries, generating over 96% of blueberries in Canada.

Great Bear Rainforest

The Great Bear Rainforest is a protected area the size of Ireland covering the BC North and Central Coast. It is home to grizzly bears, black bears and the rare white kermode bear. The Kermode bear is a black bear with white fur due to a rare genetic mutation. It is known as the “Spirit bear”.

Four Seasons of Fun

Residents and visitors in BC can enjoy many ranges of outdoor activities throughout the year. In the warmer months you can bike, hike, play outdoor sports, and go boating and swimming in the lakes and Pacific Ocean. Some areas in the winter months that receive snow offer skiing, snowboarding and other winter activities.

Climates By Region

You will experience the mildest winters in all of Canada in the B.C.’s coastal regions, where the temperatures don’t really drop below freezing. Both the interior and central regions have the hottest summers, temperatures can reach up to 30°C or more. Winter months in the north of the province experience longer winters with lots of snow, and the summer months are a lot shorter than in other regions. The north coast runs towards the state of Alaska, where rain is part of life in the spring, summer and fall.

Famous Connections

Did you know that many famous people were from British Columbia? Musicians Bryan Adams, Michael Bublè, and Diana Krall, famed producer David Foster, actors Pamela Anderson, Michael J. Fox, Ryan Reynolds, Kim Cattrall, Carrie-Anne Moss from The Matrix Trilogy, and comedian Seth Rogan are among the many famous faces that come from British Columbia, Canada.

Vancouver is the fourth largest Film and TV production region in North America with more than 60 TV shows and movies filmed in the city per year. The presence of major film production studios in the province earned it the nickname, 'Hollywood of Canada'.

Vancouver World Ranking

Vancouver has long been recognized year after year as one of the best cities in the world for Quality of Life and Livability. The city is known for its stunning natural beauty and environmental sustainability.

A Whale of a Story

In 1987 a large blue whale washed up on Canada's Northern shore on Prince Edward Island. The province’s government and the Canada Nature Museum arranged for the whale to be taken and buried to preserve the skeleton for further research. It was not until 2007 that a team dug the skeleton up and the process to remove it from its burial location in eastern Canada across 6000km and the western side of Canada began. It took a few years to degrease, clean and assemble Big Blue, she went on exhibition in 2010, and you can visit her at The Beaty Biodiversity Museum in Vancouver. Definitely worth a visit, at 26m long Big Blue is only one of 21 large blue whale skeletons in the world that is on display.

Highest Restaurant in Canada

Eagle’s Eye Restaurant is the tallest in all of Canada. It is in the stunning Kicking Horse Ski Resort, sitting in the mountains at 2347m (7100 ft), and offers breathtaking views. It is ‘Canada’s Most Elevated Dining Experience’, accessed via gondola, where you can see 5 of the surrounding national parks. It is a popular wedding location in North America.
