DOCTOR JOBS IN NOVA SCOTIA

Are You a Physician Looking for Job in Nova Scotia?

Nova Scotia is beautiful, with its stunning beaches and coastal scenery. It is a province that is rich in history and culture, with a balanced budget in 2023-24, a growing GDP, and expectations to lead the region in major project investment growth in the upcoming years.

While the fishing industry, IT sector, advanced manufacturing, tourism, and agriculture are the key contributors to attracting investors to Nova Scotia's growing economy, the NS government is focused on building a healthy economy and a clean environment to create a unique mix of financial profits and a comfortable lifestyle. To address the province's healthcare sector demands, the government has issued an action plan for healthcare with a roadmap to build a world-class healthcare system that provides more care, within a shorter time frame. According to the official provincial website, the budget of Nova Scotia for 2024-25 invests a total of $7.3 billion across the healthcare system. One of the key differences between NS and other Canadian provinces is the significant percentage of the budget devoted to education and upskilling for healthcare professionals. Recent research suggests that there are 156,000 people on the waiting list to meet their family physician. Although there are 99 locations and facilities providing medical services, including 40 hospitals, about $579 million from the healthcare budget is planned to advance healthcare infrastructure and equipment.
